Meghan Markle won’t let Harry’s kids visit Charles until the King fulfils one condition

During the holiday season last year, whispers about the potential for a family reunion within the royal circles circulated widely.

Recently, insiders revealed that Meghan Markle, the Duchess of Sussex, has a firm stipulation before allowing Prince Harry to take their children, Archie and Lilibet, to visit his father, King Charles III.

While she supports the idea of these visits, she firmly believes that proper safety protocols must be enacted first.

Sources close to the situation indicated that, “If security assessments deem it safe, she is likely to give her nod for Harry to bring Archie and Lilibet to see their grandfather.”

They further elaborated, “Having their new home in Portugal significantly simplifies logistics, allowing Meghan to accompany the kids without feeling like she’s cornered.”

Although Frogmore Cottage briefly housed Archie during his infancy, Lilibet has yet to set foot in the UK, having been born in California in 2021.

According to reports from the Irish Star, Markle’s concerns extend beyond mere safety.

One source expressed, “She’s worried that the royal institution might try to sway Harry back into the fold without her involvement, so she wants to take decisive action to prevent feeling sidelined.”

Their new property in Portugal is just a short flight to the UK, making potential visits seem more feasible.

Since their exit from royal duties in 2020, Markle has only managed two trips back to Britain, while Harry has visited on multiple occasions.

Her last appearance was during Queen Elizabeth II’s funeral in September 2022, with her only other visit that year being for the late Queen’s Platinum Jubilee in June.

Imagine young Archie and Lilibet claiming royal titles yet having no familiarity with the UK or its regal history.

How will they respond when friends ask where they were born or the tales of their lineage?

This is a reality that Meghan surely contemplates.

Initially, the couple aspired to divide their lives between the UK and America, allowing Archie a chance to bond with his royal cousins.

However, the late Queen’s perspective, as shared by People magazine, indicated a preference for them to remain integral members of the royal fold, stating she respected their wish for independence but would have liked their full-time engagement.

In their revealing interview with Oprah Winfrey after stepping back, Harry emphasized that their intention was not to sever ties completely.

He reiterated that he held his grandmother in too high regard to ever blindside her regarding their decisions.

Word has it that Meghan Markle might be softening her stance towards facilitating visits between Harry and King Charles, but she lays down one crucial caveat.

Reports suggest that the Duke and Duchess’s recent acquisition of a property in Portugal could indeed bridge the gap with the royal family while keeping them out of the UK.

Although Markle, now 43, harbors some doubts about their new European dwelling, which contradicts Harry’s earlier claims that she would “never” return to Britain, insiders hint that this move could reignite family connections.

Since moving to California post-Megxit in 2020, the couple’s children have been largely disconnected from British royal life, but possible visits may now be on the table, contingent upon security being deemed appropriate.

Closer sources remark, “If it is confirmed as safe from a security perspective, Meghan is likely to approve Harry’s plans to introduce Archie and Lilibet to King Charles.” They noted that Portugal’s proximity simplifies travel, making it easier for Meghan to accompany the children.

Discussing the significance of the recent property in Portugal, it was characterized as a “strategic decision,” reinforcing that Meghan is keenly aware of the potential dynamics at play within the royal family.

She’s determined not to feel marginalized while navigating the complexities that could arise upon reconnecting.

As time passes since their departure from royal duties, Meghan has only ventured back to the UK twice, while Harry has continued to make frequent visits on his own.

The last occasions saw Meghan in Britain for historic royal events marking the end of an era.

Meanwhile, their children continue to navigate their identities as part of a royal lineage, even without experiencing the British royal landscape first-hand.
