Meghan Markle accused of using HRH royal title ‘for years’

New claims have surfaced suggesting that Meghan Markle has been using her HRH title in private for several years, despite a formal agreement made with Buckingham Palace.

The controversy ignited when an image of a gift basket she sent to a friend was shared on a podcast, featuring a message from “HRH The Duchess of Sussex.”

This incident has cast doubt on the conditions of the 2020 arrangement that followed the couple’s departure from royal duties.

At the heart of this issue is the understanding from January 2020 that the couple, once known as the Duke and Duchess of Sussex, would refrain from using their royal titles since they were no longer active members of the royal family.

During their discussions about stepping back, Queen Elizabeth II vehemently opposed the couple’s notion of a “half in and half out” approach.

The Queen allegedly told Prince Harry, “You work for the monarchy, the monarchy doesn’t work for you.”

Following these talks, their titles were effectively placed on hold, with palace officials believing that the couple had accepted the need to stop using these titles entirely, out of respect for the institution.

However, insiders close to the Duke and Duchess have a different perspective, claiming there was a misinterpretation on both sides.

It’s said that Meghan and Harry believed their agreement strictly applied to commercial use of their titles and maintained that they could still use them privately.

Reports indicate that the Duchess has employed her HRH title consistently since moving to the United States, utilizing it in personal notes, gifts, and even on invitations.

When traveling internationally, the couple reportedly insists on being addressed using their HRH titles, which raises eyebrows.

Some critics allege that this may be an attempt to retain a sense of relevance post-royal life.

Just recently, Meghan showcased a correspondence on Instagram from Ukraine’s vice-prime minister, who addressed her as HRH, adding fuel to the ongoing debate.

The delicate balance between personal and public usage of royal titles raises further questions.

As the lines between the private and the public persona appear increasingly blurred, experts are pondering the potential implications of Meghan’s title usage on her relationship with the royal family.

Traditionally, HRH status is designated for senior royals actively fulfilling royal duties.

An illustrative example is Prince Andrew, who after the fallout from the Jeffrey Epstein scandal, was stripped of his
